Industry Forum, the leading exponent of continuous improvement techniques, has been on site since November 2009 conducting a workshop focused on changeover time reduction. Wilco were invited to participate by one of their major customers and supplied a 5 man team to learn and implement the tools and techniques. Immediate improvements have been made in tooling availability, configuration and the shop floor measurement room and the approach to machine set ups that will have an impact on capacity planning and ultimately delivery schedule achievement. The team continues to roll out the improvements every Wednesday afternoon and are increasing the focus area to include other areas of the business.
